Despite his standout campaign, there’s a sense in Buffalo that he has yet to earn the national respect he deserves. He can affirm the outcry of his most vocal supporters in Saturday night’s divisional round game against the Ravens and 2019 MVP Lamar Jackson, one of the passers against whom people most often measure Allen. Allen and Jackson were selected in the first round of the 2018 NFL Draft.
Buffalo (13-3) was the more consistent regular-season team, but Baltimore (11-5) showed its toughness as it rebounded from three straight midseason losses by winning its final five contests.
Both Allen and Jackson claimed their first career playoff victories last weekend. The Bills beat the Colts, while the Ravens knocked off the Titans.
